Basti Treatment

Basti is an important part of Ayurvedic body de-toxification therapy known as “Panchkarma”. Basti refers to enema, which is administration of medication through anal route.

What is Basti Treatment?

The therapeutic procedure in which medicines are administered to the patient through anal route using instruments {either enema acan or enema syringe} to evacuate the impurities residing in intestine.
Processed medicated ghee ,oil ,decoctions etc are used as medicines.
Depending upon the condition of the patient and requirement , there are various kinds of basti procedures. 

Basti is indicated in,

  • Osteo arthritis.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Gouty arthritis.
  • Infertility/ Impotency.
  • Parkinsons disease.
  • Stroke.
  • Sciatica.
  • Lumbar spondylosis.
  • Delayed miles stones in children.

  • Mal nourishment.
  • Leaness of body and obesity.
  • Vata Dosha related disorders.

Benefits of Sneha Basti

Administration of Basti balances the Vata Dosha. 

Not recommended (contraindicated) in case of  

Patients above 70 years of age or some anal disorders.
